WEE1-IN-3 is a peptide inhibitor that binds to the ATP-binding pocket of WEE1. The binding site of this peptide is different from that of other inhibitors, such as GSK2606414 and Iressa, which bind to the ATP hydrolysis site. WEE1-IN-3 blocks the activation of WEE1 in response to DNA damage and inhibits cell proliferation by blocking protein synthesis.
