Name:
2-(((9H-Purin-6-yl)amino)methyl)-6-methylphenol
Description:

2-(((9H-Purin-6-yl)amino)methyl)-6-methylphenol (2,6-diaminopurine, DAP) is a purine derivative that has been used to treat some forms of cancer. This drug inhibits the receptor for angiotensin II, which plays a role in blood pressure regulation and cellular proliferation. It also has antioxidant properties and may be effective in treating plants infected with a virus. 2,6-Diaminopurine can be used as an ethylene precursor to induce plantlets to grow into mature plants. 2,6-Diaminopurine has shown cytotoxic effects on tumor cells in culture and primary target cells.
