Product Information
ML324 is a small molecule that binds to the viral life cycle and has been shown to have therapeutic potential for autoimmune diseases. It is a potent inhibitor of the hepatitis C virus RNA polymerase and also inhibits HIV-1 reverse transcriptase. ML324 is not active against the influenza virus, which has an RNA genome, but it may be useful in treating other types of viruses with DNA genomes. ML324 also selectively targets methyltransferases and can be used as a lead compound for developing new drugs against these enzymes. The dsRNA-binding domain of ML324 contains two disulfide bonds that form a loop structure that is stabilized by two cysteine residues. This loop structure may be the target for developing future drugs that are designed to block viral replication by inhibiting this enzyme.
