Product Information
(+)-Azasetron hydrochloride is an ion channel activator. It is a ligand that has been shown to activate the TASK-1 and TASK-3 potassium channels in vitro. The binding site of (+)-azasetron hydrochloride appears to be located on the extracellular domain of the potassium channel. This activation leads to hyperpolarization of neuronal membranes, which results in a reduction in neurotransmitter release.
This drug has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of peptides and proteins by binding to their ribosomes and preventing peptide elongation, leading to inhibition of protein synthesis. Its affinity for antibody-antigen complexes is greater than that for antigen alone, which may be due to its ability to bind tightly with phosphate groups on the surface of these complexes.
