Product Information

Name:
TAS4464
Description:

TAS4464 is a peptide inhibitor of the potassium ion channel Kv1.4. The inhibition of Kv1.4 by TAS4464 was found to be competitive with respect to the natural substrate, and it was also found that TAS4464 inhibits the activity of Kv1.4 at concentrations as low as 10 nM in vitro. This compound has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of voltage-gated potassium channels, with potency comparable to other known small-molecule inhibitors such as 4,5-dihydro-2-(3-sulfopropyl)-6H-[1,2]oxazolo[4,5-c]quinolin-8(3H)-one (MK801). TAS4464 is an important tool for research into the ion channels that are involved in neurotransmission and neuronal excitability and may have potential as a therapeutic agent for neurological disorders such as epilepsy or schizophrenia.
