Trk-in-3 is a protein that has been found to be involved in the process of blood clotting. It is a transmembrane receptor that belongs to the TNF receptor family and is expressed on the surface of cells. Trk-in-3 can bind to both soluble and insoluble forms of thrombin, which activates the clotting system by activating factors IX and X. The protein also binds to hematopoietic cells and may play a role in their proliferation and differentiation. Trk-in-3 is used as an assay device for measuring blood coagulation time in vitro. It is also used as a specific primer for PCR amplification of hematopoietic cells from peripheral blood samples, but it does not react with other cell types such as epithelial cells or skin fibroblasts.
