Pirodavir is an antibiotic that is derived from a plant extract. It has been shown to have antiviral, antiparasitic and antibacterial properties. Pirodavir is effective against bacteria, fungi, and viruses and has been used in the treatment of disease caused by these microorganisms. It is also effective against protozoa such as Plasmodium falciparum, which causes malaria. The MIC values for pirodavir are 0.5-1 µg/mL for Mycobacterium tuberculosis, 1-2 µg/mL for Staphylococcus aureus, 2-4 µg/mL for Escherichia coli, and 4-8 µg/mL for Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
