Product Information
BAY-876 is a small molecule drug that has been shown to have potent insulin-stimulated glucose uptake in cells. It has also been shown to inhibit the ubiquitin ligase, which inhibits the degradation of proteins by linking them to ubiquitin. BAY-876 has been shown to alter metabolic pathways in cancer cells and could be used for the treatment of metabolic disorders. BAY-876 is structurally similar to ATP and may be an inhibitor of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). This drug binds with high affinity to glut1, which is responsible for transporting glucose into cells. Inhibition of this transporter can lead to increased levels of glucose in the blood.
