It selectively inhibits EGF-stimulated tumor cell growth (IC50 of 54 nM) and blocks EGFR autophosphorylation in EGF-stimulated tumor cells. Additionally, Gefitinib can induce autophagy (autophagy) and exhibits antitumor activity.
