Applications N-Methyldiethanolamine is used as a reagent in the synthesis of broad-spectrum antimicrobial polycarbonate hydrogels with fast degradability. It is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of dihydroxy quaternary ammonium salts with long chain alkyl bromides which can exhibit antibacterial and antifungal activity.
