A tirosinase é uma enzima envolvida na síntese de melanina, o pigmento responsável pela cor da pele, cabelo e olhos. A tirosinase catalisa a oxidação da tirosina em DOPA e, subsequentemente, em DOPAquinona, que leva à formação de melanina.
