CAS:Flusulfamide is a sulfonamide fungicide that effectively inhibits the germination of resting spores of the pathogen (Plasmodiophora brassicae) responsible for clubroot in cruciferous plants. It blocks the development of resting spores from stage 1 to stage 2 by down-regulating germination-related genes and up-regulating susceptibility genes (such as PbCyp3), leading to abnormal accumulation of PbCYP3 protein. This causes the spores to exhaust their energy in a state of continuous energy consumption without successful germination, thus reducing their infective capability. Initially, Flusulfamide application decreases soil ATP levels, but soil microbial biomass gradually recovers after three days.
