Description:
Sulfamethizole is a sulfonamide antibiotic that belongs to the class of sulfa drugs, primarily used for its antibacterial properties. It is characterized by its ability to inhibit bacterial growth by interfering with the synthesis of folic acid, which is essential for bacterial metabolism.
