Description:
Clonidine hydrochloride is a medication primarily used to treat high blood pressure and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist, which means it works by stimulating alpha-2 receptors in the brain, leading to a decrease in sympathetic outflow and a subsequent reduction in heart rate and blood pressure. The substance appears as a white to off-white crystalline powder and is soluble in water, making it suitable for various formulations, including oral tablets and transdermal patches.
