It has been shown to inhibit the activity of fibrinogen and thrombin, two proteins involved in coagulation. H-D-Ala-Leu-Lys-AMC hydrochloride salt also inhibits the hydrolysis of fibrin clots by serine proteases and prevents the formation of new clots by inhibiting the activation of annexin.
