Description:Nebivolol is a beta-blocker that is used to treat high blood pressure. It is also used in the treatment of angina, to decrease the heart rate and contractile force. Nebivolol has weak beta-2 adrenergic receptor antagonist action but is a highly selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist. Nebivolol's ability to block beta-1 adrenergic receptors results in a reduction in myocardial contractility, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, resting heart rate, and workout heart rate.
