BMS 214662 is a potent, selective, and orally available inhibitor of the BCR-ABL kinase. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of this enzyme in vitro and in vivo. The BCR-ABL kinase plays a central role in the molecular pathogenesis of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), affecting cellular proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and cell signaling pathways. Inhibition of this enzyme by BMS 214662 may lead to tumor regression.
