Product Information
FASN-IN-2 is a fatty acid. It is an activator of the epidermal growth factor receptor and has been shown to induce epidermal growth in vitro. FASN-IN-2 also activates the tyrosine kinase domain of the epidermal growth factor receptor, which triggers downstream signaling pathways that lead to cell proliferation. This molecule also has been shown to inhibit tumor development by binding to the kinase domain of pemetrexed, a drug used in chemotherapy for cancer treatment. The binding prevents pemetrexed from activating its own tyrosine kinase domain and thus blocks tumor cell division.
