:(R)-Metalaxyl
Description:
(R)-Metalaxyl is a systemic fungicide primarily used in agriculture to control various fungal diseases in crops. It belongs to the class of chemicals known as phenylamide fungicides and is characterized by its ability to inhibit the synthesis of ribonucleic acid (RNA) in fungi, thereby disrupting their growth and reproduction. The compound is typically applied to the soil or foliage and is effective against pathogens such as Phytophthora and Pythium species. (R)-Metalaxyl is known for its selective action, which minimizes harm to beneficial organisms while targeting specific fungal pathogens. It is generally considered to have low toxicity to mammals and birds, making it a preferred choice in integrated pest management strategies. The substance is often formulated in various ways, including granules and emulsifiable concentrates, to enhance its efficacy and ease of application. As with all pesticides, proper handling and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to mitigate any potential environmental impact.

CAS:
Metalaxyl-M is a fungicide that inhibits the growth of fungi by inhibiting the synthesis of ribosomes. It has been shown to have no effect on plants, which may be due to its low solubility in water and its high affinity for soil. Metalaxyl-M has been shown to inhibit the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) by phytophthora isolates in vitro, and this inhibition can lead to cell death. The metalaxyl-M molecule is not active against fungi that are resistant to it, such as Phytophthora infestans. This drug has also been shown to inhibit protein synthesis in fungi and bacteria, and it binds tightly with ribosomal RNA in vitro. In vivo tests have shown that metalaxyl-M is non-toxic in sublethal doses and causes only minor acute toxicities.
Formula:C15H21NO4Purity:90%MinMolecular weight:279.33 g/mol
