It has been shown to inhibit viral replication and to protect against lipid peroxidation in fetal bovine serum. CPP has also been shown to inhibit the expression of certain genes in cells, and it has been found to be stable in pharmaceutical dosage formulations. CPP is active against many Gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae.
