Salmeterol dimer impurity is a drug product. It is a custom synthesis with high purity. The metabolite of this compound is salmeterol, which is an active ingredient in the asthma medication Serevent (salmeterol xinafoate). Salmeterol dimer impurity has been shown to be a natural metabolite of salmeterol. Salmeterol dimer impurity has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
