:Silthiofam
Description:
Silthiofam is a chemical compound classified as a fungicide, primarily used in agricultural applications to control various fungal diseases in crops. It belongs to the class of thiophene derivatives and is characterized by its unique molecular structure, which includes a thiophene ring and a thiazole moiety. Silthiofam exhibits systemic properties, allowing it to be absorbed by plants and translocated to different parts, providing effective protection against pathogens. Its mode of action involves inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting fungal growth and reproduction. The compound is known for its broad-spectrum efficacy against a range of fungal pathogens, making it valuable in crop management. Additionally, Silthiofam has been evaluated for its environmental impact and safety profile, with studies indicating a relatively low toxicity to non-target organisms when used according to recommended guidelines. As with any agrochemical, proper handling and application practices are essential to maximize its effectiveness while minimizing potential risks to human health and the environment.

CAS:
Silthiofam is a fungicide that belongs to the group of adenine nucleotide analogs. It has been shown to have antifungal activity in vitro and can be used for the treatment of fungal infections in plants. Silthiofam inhibits DNA-dependent RNA polymerase by binding to a specific site on the enzyme and preventing elongation of the poly-ribonucleotide chain. This results in inhibition of DNA synthesis, which leads to cell death. Silthiofam has synergistic effects when combined with sodium carbonate or sodium citrate, which promote cell membrane damage and inhibit protein synthesis. The LC-MS/MS method was developed for identification and quantification of silthiofam in plant samples.
Formula:C13H21NOSSiPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:267.46 g/molSilthiofam-d4
